Description

This is a rare and provocative piece of mid-century European entertainment history. This 45 RPM vinyl features the celebrated German cabaret artist Gisela (Gisela Jonas), known for her sultry “chanson” style and her legendary Schwabing nightclub in Munich.

The record includes her famous rendition of “Der Novak” (III. Folge), written by Hugo Wiener, along with the tracks “Die heiße Welle” and “Roter Nebel” by Alexander Gorski. This specific release was produced by “Science and Art” Mechanische Musik GmbH and distributed by Austria Sonanda GmbH in Munich.

A unique and intriguing feature of this item is the original small metal padlock attached to the corner of the sleeve, mirroring the “Gesetzlich Geschützt” (Legally Protected) warning. The sleeve and record also bear the bold warning: “Für Jugendliche ungeeignet!” (Unsuitable for young people), highlighting the risqué nature of the lyrics during the 1950s.
